Current News of International Nurses Society on Addictions (IntNSA)
Dana Murphy-Parker; President: IntNSA
This IntNSA newsletter has been long overdue to all of you, and I do apologize. Over the past several months, IntNSA has made a number of important decisions which we believe will bring important and positive changes to IntNSA-Global, and, we look for these changes to benefit you as members.
AMC Source Management
We have a new management company! AMC Source became IntNSA’s new Executive Management Company on June 1, 2025. AMC Source is led by Co-Presidents, Gregory Brooks and Debra Nolan. Between the two of them, “Greg” and “Debbie” have close to 50 years of managing professional organizations, to include other international organizations. I invite you to review the AMC Source website; https://www.amcsource.com and read the expansive experience being brought to IntNSA with AMC Source’s Management.
AMC Source also brings Jordan Stokesberry to the role of IntNSA’s new Executive Director! Jordan has already impressed the IntNSA BOD with her quickness and knowledge in responding to needs and questions from the BOD.
I am pleased to tell you that with AMC Management and IntNSA, a “Townhall Meeting” is being planned for September 12, and you all will have an opportunity to meet and interact with these leaders. More information will be coming out about the Townhall Meeting, but please for now ‘mark your calendars’ for the date of September 12 as this meeting is specifically for all of you as members of IntNSA-Global.

Recognition of Cindy Sidor
The International Nurses Society on Addictions (IntNSA) Board of Directors (BOD) engaged Cindy Sidor as a Consultant to the Board in January 2025. Recognizing the need for expert guidance in nonprofit governance, the Board sought Cindy’s extensive experience to support its strategic efforts.
With over 20 years of expertise in corporate compliance and governance, Cindy has provided the Board with insightful and practical recommendations to help navigate complex organizational challenges. Her deep knowledge in developing policies and procedures for nonprofit organizations has proven invaluable, and she continues to play a critical role in strengthening IntNSA’s operational foundation.
We are pleased to have Cindy as part of our team and grateful for the impactful contributions she is making.
Please mark your calendars for the Town Hall Meeting on September 12, where you will have the opportunity to meet Cindy and other key leaders who are helping to shape the future of IntNSA in exciting and meaningful ways.
IntNSA Conference, Seattle, Washington, April 13-18, 2026
Our thanks to Debbie Nolan, Co-President, AMC Source, for securing the contract at the Hyatt Olive 8 hotel in Seattle for IntNSA’s 2026 Conference. I will tell you that Seattle is one of my favorite cities. It is a city where the scenery is breathtaking. There are beautiful views of both the Pugent Sound, an inlet of the Pacific Ocena and the Cascade Mountain Range, most especially Mt Ranier. If you have been to Seattle, you will know what I mean and if not, you will be happy if you go! So, let’s have a great turn-out to Seattle in April with IntNSA-Global.
There will be more information about the 2026 conference coming your way soon! I found this video on the Visit Seattle page. Go to https://visitseattle.org/ and scroll down to the video of Seattle!
Some thoughts from your IntNSA President
For myself, and I would think for many of you, we are seeing things happen in the world around us that are disturbing on a daily basis. The humanitarian crisis of famine in Gaza; the continued killings and harms to so many with the Ukraine-Russian War, the attack on vulnerable people in different parts of the world. And, particularly for those of us in the USA, we see decisions made on a daily basis and behaviors and rights that we thought we had grown past that are currently being taken back at the national level. The right to a woman’s/family’s ‘right to choose’, intolerance and racism to those who are viewed as minorities, and to those who have lived here for many years, worked, and contributed to paying taxes being deported out of our country. We all see it, and I think there are many who are not in agreement with these current happenings.
I am writing this because I am prouder than ever that IntTNSA is a global organization. And I think it is important to say that as professionals, as nurses, we certainly stand together and have more similarities in thoughts and practices of who we are as professionals…..no matter when we live. We are “Better Together”. DEI is not a bad thing. IntNSA-Global believes and practices DEI. IntNSA-Global believes and strives for Diversity; IntNSA-Global believes in and strives for Equity; and IntNSA-Global believes and strives for Inclusion. This is who we are and, I believe, we are honored to be this way. I was reviewing the International Nurses Council Code (ICN) of Ethics, as it is with honor that IntNSA is one of only 9 professional nursing organizations around the globe that is a special affiliate of the ICN. And I think ICN’s Code of Ethics stands as a true reminder of our global organization – IntNSA-Global. For easy access to the ICN Code of Ethics, here is the link for you.
I welcome any of your thoughts.
IntNSA Survey
And finally, if you have not already, please complete the IntNSA Survey that has been sent out. We will be sending reminders to all members, as we want to have your thoughts and ideas as to how we can best serve you, our members. Here is the link to the survey.
All of my Best to you and stay safe wherever you are around the globe.
Dana
