IntNSA Mentoring Program
Mentee Application Deadline: 15-June
Purpose
The purpose of the IntNSA Mentoring Program is to provide high quality mentoring in addictions nursing career development to members. Fellows in the International Academy of Addictions Nursing will serve as mentors to members of the society. Mentoring relationships may take the focus of career development in the areas of leadership, education, research/scholarship, licensure/certification, policy, alternative to discipline programs, or clinical care/practice.
Eligibility
- Be a current member of IntNSA.
- Be willing to commit to meeting with a mentor over the year mentorship period.
- Mentee must be able to articulate career development goals that will be the focus of the yearlong mentoring experience.
Mentees will be paired with an appropriate mentor for the yearlong mentoring experience. The exact frequency of meetings will be mutually agreed upon between the Mentor and Mentee.
An individual development plan will be used by Mentor and Mentee to focus on goals and objectives to be achieved during the mentoring relationship.
A formal evaluation will be completed at the end of the evaluation by the Mentee and Mentor.
Application Criteria
Potential applicants are required to submit an up to 500-word personal statement describing:
- Interest in the mentoring program
- Substantive area for mentoring (leadership, education, research/scholarship, licensure/certification, policy, alternative to discipline programs, or clinical care/practice)
- Specific interest or topic in addictions (e.g., opioids, ETOH, tobacco, interventions)
- 2-3 career development goals for the program
- Potential FIAAN mentor match with desired goals*
* It is not guaranteed that this person will be your mentor if accepted.
Key Dates & Information
- 24-June: Mentee application submission deadline.
- 1-September: Application and mentor assignment notification emails will be sent.
